Full Gauge TCP-485 Serial/Ethernet Converter with Sitrad

The Serial/Ethernet TCP-485 converter allows the interconnection of Full Gauge controllers with the Sitrad supervisory software through an Ethernet data network, using the TCP/IP communication standard.

Many companies currently have Ethernet cabling ready on their premises. With the TCP-485 converter, it is possible to take advantage of the cabling already installed, making it unnecessary to create new cabling for the RS-485 network of the controllers.

The system consists of an Ethernet/RS-485 converter connected to the Ethernet network (this can be an internet, intranet or directly to the computer) and Sitrad, which makes a direct TCP/IP connection with the Ethernet/RS-485 converter to be able to communicate with the controllers connected to it.

The converter transforms the RS-485 electrical standard used by controllers into the TCP/IP communication protocol, used in the interconnection of computer networks.

Installations that do not have the conditions to install new cabling and already have an Ethernet structure in place;

Centralize data collection from multiple remote locations on one server, without the need to have a dedicated computer for each remote location;

If you connect the TCP-485 converter directly to the computer’s network card,

The RJ-45 connector’s ”LAN” LED does not light up, you may need to use a

crossover cable (not supplied by Full Gauge) or interconnect the computer and the

converter through a HUB or Switch.

STANDARD OPERATION MODE:

The TCP-485 factory default operation is DHCP Mode. Check item 7 –

Restoring the converter to default settings/ Switching IP Mode, to

toggle the Operation Mode.

For a correct and robust installation of the RS-485 network, check item 9 – Interconnecting controllers and TCP-485.

Ensure that the instrument has adequate ventilation, avoiding installation on panels containing devices that could cause it to operate outside the specified temperature limits;

Install the product away from sources that may generate electromagnetic disturbances, such as: motors, contactors, relays, solenoid valves, etc.;
